The Gambetta Method represents a unique and innovative approach to training and rehabilitating athletes based on thirty+ years of experience working with a multitude of sports at all levels of competition.
Mission Statement: To follow the functional path to "Building the Complete Athlete" or if the athlete is injured by "Rebuilding the Complete Athlete."
"Vern does an outstanding job blending Sport Science Training THEORY with a practical and applied approach. His tremendous knowledge and experience allow him to impact all aspects of training in an integrated complementary fashion. I don’t know anybody who does it better!"— Ken Shields, Former Men’s Coach, Canadian Basketball
Vern has trained the best to be better by following the functional path for over thirty- five years by:
- Being A Pioneer
- Being A Leader
- Being An Innovator
- Producing Results
- Being Passionate
- Continual Learning
“Learning the Gambetta Method completely revolutionized my thinking in terms of training for athleticism. My athletes and I are not only achieving far greater athletic results, we are having more fun achieving them. By applying the knowledge Vern presents, the gap between training and performance is narrowed or eliminated. What I find most stimulating is the style of his teaching and his insistence to have you reach within yourself and be creative in putting together your training program.”— Jon Beyle, Conditioning Coach, Raleigh, NC
The Gambetta Method is based on the following functional path principles:
- Dynamic Postural alignment and balance are the foundation for all training.
- Train movements not muscles.
- Train fundamental movement skills before sport specific skills.
- Train core strength before extremity strength.
- Train with body weight before external resistance.
- Train joint integrity before joint mobility.
- Train synergistic muscles before prime movers.
- Train strength before strength endurance.
- Train speed before speed endurance.
"I've been using the Gambetta Method for 15+ years now in my rehabilitation and conditioning programs. Vern's Seminars & Videotapes turned those dusty old medicine balls and dumbbells lying in the corner of the closet into high tech treatment modalities. By consistently applying the scientific to the practical, he's always one step ahead of the competition."— Joseph Przytula A.T.C. CSCS, C.M.T Athletic Trainer, Elizabeth High School
